JAKA Robotics announced on July 20 that it had secured a fourth round of funding of 1 billion yuan or about $150 million. Temasek, True Light, Softbank Vision Fund 2 and Prosperity 7 Ventures, a diversified venture capital fund owned by Saudi Aramco led the round.
As a reminder, JAKA Robotics was established in 2014, the product line includes JAKA Zu series cooperative robots, All in One robots, S series cooperative robots, MiniCobo. The JAKA Pro series was launched in February this year, which can be used in severe working conditions.
JAKA Robotics has established technology centers across the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and North America. In 2021, JAKA Robotics became the global supplier of cooperative robots to Toyota.
Li Ming Yang, the founder of JAKA Robotics, previously worked in multinational companies such as TetraPak in Sweden, and held important technical and management positions. Technical Director Xu Xiong graduated from the Robotics Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and has been involved in robot research for a long time.
JAKA Robotics now has about 500 employees, and R&D personnel make up a significant portion of the teams.
This funding will enable the company to accelerate its international development with a global service network close to its international key accounts and to develop new robotic products that are even more flexible and intelligent.
